App Development with Swift Associate Objective Domains

The App Development with Swift Associate certification is designed to prepare high school and college students for careers in iOS app development using the Swift programming language and the SwiftUI framework. This certification helps participants demonstrate an understanding of the impact of computing and applications on society, the economy, and culture.

Certification Objective Domains

Before taking the certification exam, participants are expected to master the following tasks in SwiftUI:

• Differentiate between imperative and declarative programming.

• Create Content Views using elements such as Text, Image, Shape, and/or Color.

• Implement Modifiers such as .padding, .background, .frame, .foregroundColor, .font, and .resizable.

• Create Container Views like HStack, VStack, ZStack, and Spacer, and organize the layout within Stack Views.

• Explain the view hierarchy generated by the program.

• Create and/or apply Interactive Views such as Button, TextField, Slider, and Toggle.

• Use the @State Property Wrapper to control the appearance of a View.

Skills Acquired

Participants who pass the certification exam will gain the following skills:

• A fundamental understanding of the Swift programming language.

• The ability to use Xcode and Interface Builder to build user interfaces.

• The application of UI (User Interface) and UX (User Experience) design principles based on Apple's Human Interface Guidelines.
